- Where do you study? What field did you choose for your studies? What inspired you to study in this field?
I study at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, one of the top universities in Hungary, known for its rich academic tradition and Nobel Prize-winning scientists. My major is Computer Science Engineering. Initially, I had planned to pursue Mathematics, but after graduating from high school, I found myself more drawn to technology and its growing impact on the world. This shift in interest inspired me to choose Computer Science as my field of study
- How did you find information about your university? Do you have a scholarship? If yes, full or partial?
I discovered my university while researching top institutions in Europe that offered strong programs in technology and engineering. After learning about its reputation and achievements, I knew it would be a perfect fit. I am a proud recipient of the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship, which I learnt about from Okajak. This scholarship covers my full tuition and provides financial support throughout my studies.
- Could you share some of your future academic and career aspirations, and how your time at university has prepared you for them?
My primary goal is to excel in the field of Computer Science and become an expert in my area of interest. The knowledge I’m gaining here, particularly the hands-on experience and exposure to new technologies, is equipping me with the tools to succeed in the future. I aim to use this foundation to innovate and contribute to advancements in technology.
- What were some of the challenges you faced during the application process and/or during studies, and how did you overcome them?
One of the biggest challenges has been the language barrier, as I am studying in a foreign country. Although my courses are in English, it is important to also learn Hungarian for daily life and interaction with the local community. Overcoming this challenge required extra effort in language learning, but it has been rewarding. I also faced the typical challenges of adjusting to a new academic environment, but staying organized and seeking help from professors and peers has helped me succeed.
- When and how did you apply for university? What was the application process? What documents were required? How did you send your documents? Was there a requirement for any test results?
The application process was quite long and thorough. I applied through the Stipendium Hungaricum program, which required me to pass an entrance exam in my home country and the university’s own exam. The necessary documents included academic transcripts, an English language proficiency certificate, and other standard documents. I uploaded all of my documents through the Stipendium Hungaricum portal, making the process smooth and organized.
- Lastly, do you have any tips or advice for prospective students who want to study at the same university?
For anyone considering studying at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, my advice would be to start preparing early, both for the application process and for the academic challenges ahead. Be sure to work on your language skills, as it can make a huge difference in adapting to the local environment. Most importantly, stay focused on your goals and make the most of the learning opportunities available. The hard work will be worth it!
