Central Asian Youth Leadership Academy (CAYLA) – Online Fully free
Eurasia Foundation announces a call for applications to become members of the Central Asia Youth Leadership Academy (CAYLA) for a 6-month cycle beginning in April 2023. CAYLA provides online networking, practical and learning opportunities to young leaders.
CAYLA is an interactive and engaging platform for young leaders of Central Asia that supports expanding leadership skills, learning, networking, and making a positive impact on the development of youth and their communities. CAYLA is open to individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 years old from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
CAYLA members will learn from instructors in courses like Project Design and Management, Effective Communications, Creative and Critical Thinking, Public Speaking, Fundraising, and Monitoring and Evaluation, and have access to an additional catalog of self-guided modules. Members of CAYLA who complete all trainings will receive certificates of completion.
ELIGIBILITY:
CAYLA is open to individuals who:
- are 18 to 30 years old at the time of application
- are citizens of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan or Uzbekistan
- are residents of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan or Uzbekistan
- are committed to actively participate in the entire cycle of the program
Evaluation Criteria:
Approximately 120 new CAYLA members will be selected for this cycle in an open and competitive process. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong background in community engagement, volunteerism, and community development projects.All complete applications from eligible individuals will be reviewed, and CAYLA members will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Demonstrated leadership potential
• Clearly articulated need for contribution to the positive development of their community or the region (an idea for a social project is an advantage) - Strong motivation to participate in the program
- Record of volunteering or other community services
