Global Undergraduate Exchange Program in USA, 2022-2023 – Fully funded
The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S.
The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by World Learning. It provides opportunities for undergraduate students to spend up to two semesters of full-time non-degree study at an accredited university in the United States. Students must have at least one term remaining at their home institutions upon completion of the program. Participants are selected through an open, merit-based competition. Applications are accepted in all fields of study, but applicants in medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmacology or other clinical fields of study should be aware that direct patient care, including animal care, is not permitted, and therefore academic coursework and/or program activities at participating U.S. institutions may be limited.
Global Undergraduate Exchange Program 2023 welcomes outstanding and brilliant students who possess leadership skills and have the potential to shine in their relevant fields. International students will engage in activities and meet diverse, multicultural communities from different countries around the world. Under this USA exchange program 2023, they will gain practical work experience as they will engage in various community projects and activities. Through this student exchange program, international students will have an opportunity to enhance their knowledge, develop professional skills and step up toward excellence. It will allow students to learn about other cultures as individuals from different countries will be participating. In addition, this is a chance to explore American culture and society.
Eligibility Criteria for the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program:
• Students must be citizens of the country in which they reside.
• Applicants for the Global undergraduate exchange program must study in the country where they live.
• Students must be enrolled in full-time undergraduate programs and have completed at least their first semester of study to be eligible for scholarships. After completing the UGRAD exchange program, participants must complete at least one semester or equivalent term at their home institutions.
• Applicants should display leadership potential through academic achievement, community involvement, and extracurricular activities.
• Furthermore, students must have a TOEFL IBT score of 48 or higher.
• Applicants without experience in the United States or outside their home countries will prioritize.
• International students must return to their native country immediately after completing the program.
• Participants must be at least 18 years of age by the start date of their program in the United States.
The following applicants will not be considered:
• Permanent residents of the USA and citizens of the United States
• Individuals who are currently studying, residing, or working in a country other than their own.
• Local personnel at U.S. embassies in other countries who work for the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID); employees are also ineligible for one year after their job ends.
• Immediate family members (spouses and children) of workers of the U.S. Department of State and USAID; family members are also disqualified for one year after employment ends.
• Employees of World Learning and their close family members.
The fellowship is fully funded and provides:
• J-1 visa support;
• Round-trip travel from participant’s home city to host institution in the United States;
• Accident and sickness coverage;
• Tuition and mandatory university fees;
• Housing and meals;
• Small incidentals allowance;
• Limited allowance for books; and
• A wide variety of alumni networking and training opportunities.

• Academic transcripts for years of university study
• Two letters of reference (with English translations)
