Applications are open for the Institute of Science and Technology (IST) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program 2024 in Austria. This program invites international students from around the world to participate. The IST-BRIDGE International Postdoctoral Program for 2024-25 is an exceptional opportunity for individuals with strong academic backgrounds who aspire to pursue advanced research in an international setting. Participants engage in collaborative research within the Science field alongside peers and mentors from various countries. This fully funded fellowship in Austria ensures a dynamic environment, particularly in the fields of computer science, natural science, and mathematics. The IST-BRIDGE initiative at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA) provides fully funded postdoctoral fellowships spanning two years.
All research endeavors offered through this program are highly valued. Adequate supervision is readily accessible from experts in the respective fields. Moreover, for interdisciplinary subjects, an additional host is assigned. The institution boasts 51 significant research groups and a network of 90 associated research groups that share insights with those initial 51 groups, a trend projected until 2026.
Eligibility Criteria:
- By the application deadline, candidates must have obtained a PhD (or equivalent) or acquired at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience.
- Furthermore, they should anticipate finalizing their PhD before the commencement of the fellowship, ideally within approximately 7 months post-deadline (consult the applicant’s guide for more details).
- A fellowship contract will only be issued once the diploma or evidence of a successful defense is submitted.
- Candidates should not have resided or engaged in their primary activities (work, studies, etc.) within Austria for more than 12 months during the 36 months immediately before the original call deadline (i.e., 05/05/23).
- Researchers who were already part of the ISTA team by the initial call deadline (i.e., 05/05/23) are ineligible to participate in the application process.
