The Fulbright Program for Scholars and Young Educators, 2022 – 2023 year
The Fulbright for Scholars program is now accepting applications for the following sub-components of the program:
Core Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program (one to two semesters, minimum 10 years of work experience). This is a program for researchers in any field, but priority will be given to Science, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields. Apply at https://apply.iie.org/fvsp2023
Fulbright Distinguished Scholars or Professionals (three months to one semester, minimum 10 years of work experience). This is a program for individuals holding leadership positions within universities, government agencies, cultural institutions, or non-profit organizations. Apply at https://apply.iie.org/fvsp2023
Fulbright Junior Faculty (one semester, minimum 3 years of work experience). This is a program for university or institute faculty. The program enables participants to explore best practices and approaches to curriculum development in the United States. Apply at https://apply.iie.org/fvsp2023
Fulbright Scholar-In-Residence program (1-2 semesters, have to be invited by a U.S.-based institution). This is a program that brings professionals from other countries to lecture at U.S. colleges and universities. *Please note: applicants in law fields are limited to a maximum of one-semester. Research in the field of medicine may not involve any contact with patients.
Requirements:
• A minimum of 10 years of work experience in the chosen field of study
• Proficiency in English that would enable the candidate to carry out the proposed research in the United States.
• Two (2) recommendation letters from persons in a position to judge the applicant’s professional qualities
• A fully filled-out program application with a research proposal. Please note, applicants applying for a 2-semester program will need to provide a timeline of activities and research to be undertaken
• The applicant must be a citizen of Turkmenistan, and reside in Turkmenistan at the time of application
Eligibility (applicable to ALL Fulbright programs):
• Employees of the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), individuals associated with any organization responsible for nominating or selecting participants for any exchange program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State are ineligible for Fulbright grants during and for a period ending one year following the termination of employment or association
• Immediate family members and dependent children of individuals described above are also ineligible. This does not apply to self-supporting children who live apart from their parents
• Individuals holding U.S. citizenship or permanent residency are ineligible for Fulbright grants
How to Apply:
This is an invitation program. Scholars from Turkmenistan wishing to participate in this program must be invited by a U.S. university.
