Asian Development Bank – Japan Scholarship Program 2024 year
The University of Tokyo ADB Scholarship is open for applications for 2024. It offers a fully funded two-year master’s scholarship to nationals of developing ADB member countries.
The scholarship covers full tuition fees, monthly stipends for accommodation and living expenses, subsidies for books and materials, health insurance, and flight expenses.
Eligibility:
In order to be nominated to ADB-JSP, the candidates should:
- Be a national of an ADB borrowing member country
- Be nominated from an appointed educational institution (GSFS), and seeking for master degree
- Have at least two years of full time professional working experience in a relevant field of your bachelor course study, at the time of application
- Not be more than 35 years old at the time of application
- Agree to return and work in his/her home country for at least two years after completion of master
study at GSFS (If you plan to continue your study till doctoral course, we suggest you apply for a MEXT scholarship with Embassy recommendation instead of ADB-JSP)
- Not have a master degree at the time of application. Second master seekers are ineligible to apply for ADB-JSP.
Note that ADB-JSP provides their scholarships only for students pursuing a master’s degree.

Step 3 | Upload application materials to a designated URL by December 10, 2023. |
Step 4 | Only successful candidates will be required to submit documents for ADB scholarship application (Mid February). GSFS will nominate successful candidates who have submitted all the required documents to ADB (last March). |
Step 5 | ADB-JSP notifies us of the selection result (May) |
Step 6 | Procedures on admission and immigration (May to September) |
Step 7 | Enter Japan with a student visa and enroll in GSFS (late September). The autumn semester starts on October 1 |
