The France Excellence Eiffel scholarship program is a tool developed by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assist French institutions of higher education in attracting the best foreign students to Master’s and Doctoral/Phd degree programs.

It trains future foreign decision-makers from the private and public sectors in priority areas of study. The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs funds the scholarship; as it is a fully funded opportunity, students will receive a monthly allowance, airfare, travel facilitation and health insurance and many other benefits; they can also participate in different cultural activities and events. Therefore, students do not need to worry about the cost and expenses related to studying in Europe. The duration of the French Government Eiffel Scholarship Program is 12 months for an M1 level Master, 24 months for an M2 level Master and 36 months for PhD program.

Duration of Eiffel Excellence Scholarship:

• M1 Level Master: Maximum of 12 months

• M2 Level Master: Maximum of 24 months

• PhD Scholarship: Maximum of 36 months.

Eiffel scholarship covers two main disciplinary fields, including seven study areas for master’s and doctorate programs.

Science and Technology

• Biology and health

• Ecological Transition

• Mathematics and Digital

• Engineering Sciences

Humanities and Social Sciences

• History, French language and civilization

• Law and Political Science

• Economics and Management

Eligibility Criteria:

• The applicants must be international students (non-French).

• Applicants with dual nationality, with one of the nationalities being France, are not applicable for this program.

• The applicant must be 25 years of age or more at the time of selection.

• Applicants who were previously rejected for different competitions are not applicable for this program.

• Students who have received Eiffel Scholarship earlier on are not applicable to apply for the scholarship program.

• Applicants who received Eiffel Scholarship for the master’s program can apply for a scholarship for the doctorate program.

• Applicants studying in France are not already eligible to apply for the master’s program. Students who are studying out of France will be given priority over French students for the doctorate program.

• Students must have an outstanding academic record to apply for a scholarship in France.

Benefits:

• A monthly stipend of €1,181.

• International air travel will be facilitated.

• Two train tickets for within France travel. One will be for the 1st study location, and the other will be for the 2nd study location.

• Up to €50 for local transportation.

• Health insurance will also be covered.

• Students will get a chance to participate in cultural activities.

• academic transcripts all of the years of higher education (including periods spent abroad on exchange programmes)

• Copy of passport

• Language test certificates (french and/or english) if necessary

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE FRANCE EXCELLENCE EIFFEL SCHOLARSHIP

First Step

• Contact Campus France in your country of origin or the French Embassy’s Cooperation and Cultural Action Department, who can guide you and advise you on your study plans.

• To learn about the procedures and deadlines for submitting an application, contact the international relations department of a French institution via its website, by e-mail or by telephone.

• It’s up to you to choose the school or university that best fits your plans for studying in France.

All French higher education institutions can submit applications.

Second Step

• The institution accepts and supports your application for the France Excellence Eiffel scholarship

• The institution submits your application online via the dedicated Campus France website

Note: Students cannot apply directly for the Eiffel Scholarship. Applications must be made through a higher education institution. If you are studying in two higher education institutions, you can only submit a single application.
