Eligibility:

  • The eligibility criteria for application states that candidates of all nationalities, except Chinese, are eligible to apply for the programs.
  • The individual has never studied in Taiwan as an overseas Chinese student before.
  • The person has not been accepted into any program for the current academic year by the University Entrance Committee for Overseas Chinese Students, following the rules regarding Study and Counseling Assistance for Overseas Chinese Students in Taiwan.
  • For admission to the Master’s program, applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or a higher qualification from a recognized university.
  • To be eligible for the Ph.D. program, candidates should have obtained a Master’s degree or a higher qualification from a recognized university.

Benefits:

  • The scholarships provide financial assistance, covering tuition fees, living expenses, and other study-related costs, relieving students of financial burdens.
  • The KMU University Scholarships offer three stipends: Type A, Type B, and Type C, each with different allowances.
  • Type A includes a monthly stipend, accommodation coverage, and tuition fee ranging from NTD 200,000 to 260,000 per year.
  • Type B includes accommodation coverage and tuition fee, ranging from NTD 80,000 to 140,000 per year.
  • Type C covers only the tuition fee, ranging from NTD 70,000 to 80,000 per year.
  • Master’s students can apply for both Type B and Type C.
  • All categories of scholarships are open to Ph.D. students who meet the eligibility criteria.
  • The scholarships attract students from various countries, allowing them to experience a multicultural setting in Taiwan.
  • Recipients of the scholarships can pursue their studies at Kaohsiung Medical University, renowned for its academic excellence.

Requirements for Kaohsiung Medical University Scholarships:

  • A Passport size photograph
  • Online application form along with the KMU scholarship form
  • Photocopy of a valid passport or certificate of nationality
  • The highest-level diploma
  • Financial Statement
  • Official Transcripts
  • Proof of Language Proficiency
  • A study plan in English or Chinese

Application Process:

  • Go to the website and choose the degree program you want to apply to.
  • Create a personal account for registration: https://admission.kmu.edu.tw/index/index/locale/en
  • Ensure online registration is completed, as applications without this step will not be accepted.
  • Carefully read and agree to the terms of application stated in the Declaration.
  • Upload all necessary files and documents as mentioned above.
  • After completing the application forms, print a hard copy, sign it, and then upload a scanned copy of the signed form.
  • Provide contact information for at least two referees for each program you apply to.
  • Once all the necessary steps are completed, submit your application.

Note: Each applicant can apply for up to three programs.
